When it comes to finding research and writing specifically on sustainable theatre, there is almost nothing on the internet. You’ll notice that a lot of the sources I use in my posts are not from websites or companies that specialize in talking about the live performance industry’s environmental impact; I usually have to synthesize information from a wide array of sources to make an educated guess at where the theatre industry is causing harm to our environment. I do, however, get some solace knowing that others are researching and talking about the same things, with similar obstacles. I cite these people and organizations in each of my sustainable theatre posts, but I wanted to make sure there is an easy, central place to access these resources, should anyone be interested in learning more about how to create theatre while reducing its impact on our environment. As the urgency to fix the climate crisis increases, I think it is equally important to reshape the ways we create art in this world.
